Materials: Organisms

In addition to molecular tools, we use organisms as experimental models. We have to know them quite well to design our experiments successfully.

To understand the function of molecules and mechanisms, biologists need model organisms. These include specific cell lines (tobacco, grapevine), but also mutants and genotypes of our main model species Rice and Grapevine.
